GAMB — The Global Alliance for Merchants on the Blockchain will start the Pre-Sale of GMB Tokens very soon. In order for our community to quickly and safely acquire their share of GMB, we will provide you with a step-by-step rundown on how to proceed to join the whitelist, transfer the funds and receive your tokens.
But first, let’s establish some basic rules we feel are important for everyone.
The Basics
- We recommend using MyEtherWallet since you can access ERC20 tokens through their website. Other options would be MetaMask, IMToken or hardware wallets.
- Make sure you send your payment from the same wallet you want to receive your GMB tokens, as the address cannot be changed.
- Participation from an exchange is not possible.
If you still choose to do so you will lose all the tokens you purchased.
Now that we have cleared that up, let us have a look at how you can participate in the GAMB ICO.
Join the Whitelist
We are excited that you want to be a part of the e-commerce revolution! In order to buy GMB tokens, you need to make your interest official. That is why we implemented the whitelist for the GAMB ICO.
Heads up: When you join the whitelist, we will ask you to provide us with some personal information, so we know whom we are dealing with, and so you can rest assured that no one will register in your name.
We will also ask you to register your private wallet as part of our fraud-prevention regulations.
Now that we have the basics covered, let’s look at how you can join the Whitelist.
The Sign-Up Process
Go to https://gamb.io/ and click the blue “JOIN WHITELIST” button.
Once you have completed all the necessary steps you will see this message:
You can now start your verification process.
Verify Your Identity
In order for you to receive your GMB tokens, we need to be sure that you are who you say you are. The process you will have to go through to verify your identity is known as KYC (Know Your Customer).
To start the KYC process, click the button in your dashboard. Make sure you have an official Identification Document (ID or Passport) and a Proof of Residence (utility/mobile phone bill) at hand.
A quick note: Unfortunately, some countries are prohibited from participating in the GAMB ICO. If your country is not available in the list, you will not be able to contribute.
Once you have completed the KYC and the following message pops up in your dashboard, you are ready to take part in the GAMB ICO.
This step will be available once the pre-sale started.
In order to participate in the ICO, you will need to have a suitable personal wallet with the sufficient funds in it. Here is how you can get one:
Set up your Wallet
A personal wallet is necessary both to join the whitelist and to receive the GMB tokens once the ICO has concluded and the tokens are distributed.
Recommended Wallets
Your safety is our premier concern. To make sure you receive your tokens, we recommend the following wallets:
- MyEtherWallet (Software)
- MetaMask (Software)
- IMToken (Software)
- Ledger (Hardware, e.g. Ledger Nano S)
- Trezor (Hardware, e.g. Trezor One)
The GMB token is using the ERC20 standard and is therefore compatible with all other Ethereum-based tokens.
How to Set Up a Wallet
We will use MyEtherWallet as an example to illustrate how to set up your personal wallet.
MyEtherWallet is an open source, javascript, client-side tool for generating Ethereum Wallets & sending transactions.
A new private wallet can be generated for free in a couple of minutes.
All you have to do is:
- Choose a password
- Download and save your Keystore File
- Store your Private Key
- Unlock your wallet to see if you were successful
Warning: make sure that you and only you have access to your Private Key. Whoever is in possession of your Private Key will have full access to your wallet. If you lose your Private Key, your wallet and your funds will be gone forever.
Send Ether to your Wallet
In order to acquire GMB tokens, you will need to have the corresponding amount of Ether (ETH) in your wallet.
The ratio GMB/ETH will be 1 GMB = 0.0002 ETH.
The easiest way to transfer Ether to your wallet is by purchasing them on your favorite exchange, and then sending it directly to your new wallet. That way you will be ready once the Pre-Sale begins.
When the Pre-Sale starts, the following message will appear in your dashboard:
The minimum contribution is 0.1 ETH and there is no upper limit. To ensure faster transaction confirmation of your contribution in GMB, we recommend 50 Gwei and 200,000 Gas Limit.
Once the transaction is confirmed, you will see your GMB tokens confirmed in your dashboard. Your are now officially a part of GAMB’s mission to build the marketplace of the future and give back the power to the merchants.
